What we read and see each day are situations that may not have to have happened if better social skills had been in place. As a criminal justice student, you are our great profession’s future and will carry the torch. It is vitally important that you understand what occurred and how to go a different route potentially.

For this discussion, you are to conduct research, explore the web, and find a situation where a police officer, security guard, or correctional officer conversed with a suspect or inmate. While doing so, the situation went south, and force had been utilized. After finding this story, share it, along with your thoughts on what occurred, where the Officer failed to listen and see the nonverbal components. After sharing this information, further, discuss what could have been done differently and a nonverbal component that was noticed.
